Yes, I am still on my memoir kick, though I believe it'll slow down after this one. I really enjoy Anna Kendrick in interviews and movies and I was excited to read (listen) to her thoughts on herself and the world. I was also a little nervous because she's basically the same age as me and I'm always nervous when someone young writes a memoir because it feels too soon. In the case of Mindy Kaling, I felt like she didn't have very much to say.
Kendrick's essays are great. She talks about her childhood, growing up in show biz, dating and relationships, family, and her various escapades on the way to where she is now. She opens herself up and shares some really honest truths about her life, which I think we could all learn from. I think she wants that.
I enjoyed the essays and her funny take one some of the weirder things she has gone through. She comes across as a deep, introspective person and honestly examines her life in chapters of the book. I recommend it!
