​Simply put, I am a nerd. I have an unironic enthusiasm for more things than I could list in a proper sentence. I am a reader.  I am a baker and a cook. I am a teacher. I am also a TV binge-water. I'm a film enthusiast, but don't mistake that for my having refined taste in movies. I'll watch anything. I love to be outdoors, but I've never camped. I'm a world traveler and a wannabe photographer without the talent or tools for it. I am a historian. I am a realist and an idealist. 

 

To me, reading is the most necessary ingredient to life. It allows you to escape this world or understand this world. A book shapes you and you shape a book. It's the most symbiotic relationship there is. I revel in other people's words. Each page of this site is filled with quotations from people who inspire me or people I've never even heard of.
