I should start by saying that I liked the book.

Sometimes when I'm reading a book I can't a very vivid reminder that I am not a young adult, the intended audience for this book. This is very rare, since most YA books are equally appealing to older audiences. But, like I said, sometimes I feel like I might be a little out of touch with the youths the books are intended for. This was one of those books.

It's really beautifully written in a unique style. The book follows three very different characters: Wink, Poppy, and Midnight. The voice of the book's narration changes with each of these characters. The story, like many stories, is said to have a Hero and a Villain and we're trying to find out who precisely they might be.

The book is a short, easy read. Took me one evening to read and I'm not the quickest reader. It was just the ending of the book..it didn't sit well with me. The morality seemed flawed (which, I actually really like most of the time) but the book didn't acknowledge that. Overall though, I do recommend it. I think it's worth reading for its dark, unique, beautiful style.

3 Stars.
