"Think only of the past as its remembrance gives you pleasure." - Jane Austen

Today is my birthday! Yay!
Well, that was a bit forced. I've never felt much towards my own birthday. I have a lot of fun celebrating my friends' birthdays, finding the perfect gift, creating the perfect memory. My own birthday has never been much of a big deal. Today especially, turning 26, there's no exciting milestone to celebrate (unless you count having to pay for my own health insurance).
In order to lose a bit of my apathy, I've started thinking back on my favorite birthdays and the thoughtful, sweet things my friends have done for me. All 4 years of college some hilarious or heartwarming event would occur on my birthday. I will always appreciate my college friends for that. This is what reminded me of the quote above. Generally, I'm not actually a fan of that quote or its sentiment. I agree that dwelling on things is counterproductive, but studying history is so crucial to ensuring we don't repeat it. Especially the bad stuff.
Anyway, I thought I'd share a picture of just some of the wonderfully nerdy birthday gifts my mother got me after having been introduced to Society6!
