"Tradition is the crown of the tyrant" - Pierce Brown, Golden Son

So, re-reading books is very difficult for me. I feel a tremendous sense of guilt when I re-read a book knowing that means there are more books out there that I will never get to read. But there are a few books that are well worth it. I re-read Pride & Prejudice every other year. The Hobbit or a Harry Potter book if I'm ever feeling down. Some classics that I really connected with.

Initially, I planned to re-read this series because I had devoured it so quickly last year that I couldn't remember some details. Then, I found out that the author was hosting a re-read through goodreads and it was settled. Of course, I'm completely incapable of following the timeline they set out because I can never put these books down (thank goodness for blizzards?)

It's funny to think that while I was re-reading these books I think I genuinely believed that if I wished hard enough somethings would change. Certain characters wouldn't die. A certain horrifying scene at the end would go in a totally different direction. No luck, guys. This time, though, I went straight from Golden Son to the sneak peak of Morningstar.

I have so many questions about the book and I fully intend to ask as many as I can on the goodreads thread. Go on, my friends, read the books! Explore the world that Pierce Brown has created for you!
