"You were the sun and I was crashing into you" - Rainbow Rowell, Carry On

If you've even glaced at this blog before you would know that in a few short months Rainbow Rowell became my absolute favorite young adult author. I've read 3 of her young adult books and one adult book and I've adored all of them. I've been raving about them so much that I feel like it might get old. So instead, this time I will share a paraphrased transcript of a text message conversation I had with a friend upon finishing Carry On as my review/synopsis. Here goes..
Me: I just read a book and I loved it so much that I had to share it with someone! It's a little weird, but I think you'd like it
Me: My favorite YA author that I discovered this summer wrote a spinoff of her book Fangirl (also worth a read if you're in the mood to feel warm and gooey on the inside). Simply put, it's like Harry Potter if Harry and Draco were a thing. Carry On by Rainbow Rowell. 1 million stars.
Friend: WUT
Me: Yup. Fangirl is amazing and its about a socially awkward nerd at college (sound familiar?) and she's obsessed with writing fan fic for a fantasy series she grew up on. The characters were so beautifully written that the author wrote hte book fro them too and it's really good. She's actually amazing at the warm and gooey stuff. All her books make me feel like a doe-eyed-teen
Friend: Adorable
Friend: I'll check it out!
So there you have it, friends: Warm & Gooey. 1 million stars.
