As I've mentioned in a previous post, I have a special place in my heart for all things Lemony Snicket. You can imagine my delight when I found that he has a new series out that I have not read! Over the past weekend, while I suffered from the flu combined with a sinus infection, I explored that new series.

I read the first 2 in the series, Who Could That Be at This Hour? and "When Did You See Her Last" in bed between YouTube videos and naps. They're very much in the classic Snicket style. These are narrated by a 13 year old version of Snicket who attempts to solve some interrelated mysteries but keeps bumbling through them because he asks "All the Wrong Questions." It's very cute and the dialog is as adorable as what you'd find in the Series of Unfortunate Events. The difference is that I believe this series is more directed towards fans of his other books who are now grown. These, I believe, wouldn't appeal as much to younger children who would get lost in the banter and circuitous logic of a truly Snicket book.

That said, I am an older fan of his and I enjoyed them. So I guess I'm the target demographic. I'll give them a star rating when the remainder of the series is under my belt.
