As I prepared to be "presentable" at a friend's engagement bash this weekend, I started to muse on the commodication of beauty. I've been thinking about this a lot lately. The more I think about it the more upset and confused I become.

I want to have a healthy, well-rounded concept of inner beauty. I want to be above-it-all. Especially because I work with young girls and I am always very careful with the words I use around them. I'm not there yet. I still watch TV shows and want to look like the actress. i still dream away some of my imperfections. But at the end of the day, at least I'm thinking about it. We should all think about it. It's the first step to doing something important.
