"Words can be like X-rays if you use them properly -- they’ll go through anything. You read and you’re pierced.” - Aldous Huxley, Brave New World
A week ago my college friends and I decided to start a book club. This is incredible because we've discussed it on-and-off for years now (since the day after graduation) and never got close to starting one. Then, a week ago I sent a text saying "hey! we should start a book club!" to which one friend responded "ok! Let's start in December" and another said "Brave New World? Yes?" and so it began. Our book club.
I've never actually been a part of a real book club, which is strange considering my love of books and fascination with surrounding myself with readers. I've read for school. I've read the same book as friends at the same time and discussed it. But I've never had a book club before.
In addition, I realized that with a site called "reader's kitchen" I should really be throwing little updates about what I'm reading and how I feel about it, so I will use the book club to start this. Look forward to updates on a Brave New World, which I never read in high school, and Happy December!
